EFileReady/ PDF/A e-filing checker

Check your filing before the clerk rejects it

Courts bounce filings for boring mechanical reasons: fonts not embedded, no searchable text, password protection, attachments where attachments are banned. This tool checks those causes in seconds — in your browser.

Filing in a court that publishes its own list? Start from the court requirements index — the same file can pass one court and fail another.

Nothing leaves this device. The PDF is parsed inside this tab — no upload, no account, no server. Close the tab and it's gone.

PDF only, up to 80 MB. Batch checking several files is available.

Not legal advice. EFileReady is an educational pre-check tool. It is not a certified PDF/A validator and does not guarantee that any clerk or e-filing portal will accept your document. Court rules differ and change — always verify against your court's current technology standards before filing.

FAQ

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is parsed inside your browser tab. Nothing is sent to any server, and the report is generated on your device.
Does a pass mean the clerk will accept my filing?
No. This is a heuristic pre-check of the most common rejection causes. It is not a certified PDF/A validation and not legal advice. Always verify against your court's current e-filing rules.
What PDF/A level should I target?
For scanned documents many courts point to PDF/A-2b with OCR'd searchable text. Ask your court, or check its technology standards.
Why do courts reject filings?
Common causes: non-searchable scans, fonts not embedded, password protection, embedded attachments or JavaScript, oversized files, and PDFs that are not actually PDF/A despite the filename.
