⚡ Hall Effect board × switch socket table
HE switch stems fit MX caps, but the board socket is the hard gate — and the magnet polarity is the quiet second gate: a switch magnetized the wrong way round can read inverted or not at all. Gateron’s Jade family is specified N-pole facing the PCB; generic HE boards are tuned to match:

What the checker judges
Stem × keycap mountMX cross 4.1 mm, Kailh Choc, low-profile LP-MX, Hall Effect stem tolerances (box stems, pop-off risk on tight SA/MT3 skirts).
Profile × layout rowsSculpted profiles need correct rows per layout (40%, 65%, 75%, 96%, Alice, split). Uniform profiles (DSA/XDA/KAT/KAM/MT3) need nothing extra.

Height & clearanceTall SA/MT3 caps vs low-clearance cases; LP caps vs full-height switches.

FAQ
Do all keycaps fit all switches?
Most sets use the Cherry MX 4.1mm cross stem and fit standard switches. Low-profile Choc switches need Choc caps, low-profile boards need LP cap sets, and some Hall Effect stems have tighter tolerances that can pop loose caps off.
Do sculpted keycap profiles work on 40% or split keyboards?
Only if the set includes dedicated 1u row kits (and ortho kits for columnar boards). Uniform profiles like DSA, XDA, KAT, KAM and MT3 work on any layout without extras.
Can I put Hall Effect switches in a normal mechanical keyboard?
No. HE switches need a PCB with Hall Effect sensors, and sockets are not interchangeable — Wooting Lekker switches only fit Wooting boards, while Gateron-family magnetic switches fit generic HE hot-swap boards.
Do Hall Effect switches have a magnet polarity requirement?
Yes. Every HE switch magnet has a north and south pole, and boards are tuned for one orientation — Gateron specifies its Jade family with the N-pole facing down toward the PCB. A polarity mismatch can cause inverted readings, missed actuation or no detection at all. Check the polarity column in the board table before mixing switch families.
